As said in my previous post, Mashups are very powerful user-interface when handled with little common sense and creativity. In this post I’ll try to give an overview of how an Mashup (pretty simple Mashup… J ) can be created. Though this is going to be simple, the logic behind this is same for all Mashups..!

Heard this buzz word, If yes, you can rate yourself ‘up-to-date geek’. If not, read on, still in the end of this post you can rate yourself so. Even this post is late by quite some time months since this word came into prominence. Before talking about Mashup, I’d take an analogy to explain.

Today let me write something useful regarding Gmail. This may be simple stuff for the techie community. But I want this to be known to those find it difficult to manage between their POP3 mails and different Gmail accounts. You can get all the accounts / mails under a single login. It’s pretty simple and straight forward.
Logon to your primary Gmail account, and click the ‘Settings’ link in the top right corner.

I’ve decided to move the rest of the contents from this site to a different site. I wanted to have this site exclusively for my blogging. I want to write more and will continue writing. The other site will be up soon and I’ll update you ASAP…

This is how my ‘Start’ button looks like…it’s no more a ’start’ button but it’s a ‘Markish’ button. I’ve done this in Win98 some 4-5 years back. But I had the pain of the hexadecimal editors to change anything in the binary file (i.e the explorer.exe) But now with the availability of the ‘Resource hacker’, it’s quite easy and straight forward. For those who’re not aware of the ‘RH’ (the resource hacker), please check my previous post on ‘Tweaking win32 Applications‘

I came across a utility called ‘Resource Hacker’. It’s not that bad as it name sounds.. It’s a very powerful and very small in size (some 600 kb) utility that will allow you to access the resources associated with any win32 Executables or dlls. So what..? Most of the Win32 Application uses the resource files for the GUI part. Once we have access to them, we can play around with it even when we don’t have the source code of it..
I forgot to mention, the utility is a freeware, you can download it from http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/

We do receive several junk mails in our mail-box daily. No mail providers (gmail, yahoo, our own outlook, hotmail) and none of us are exceptional to it… J I often wondered from where in the world these people keep sending them to me..! I wanted to dig this out..! I found a way as well to locate the culprits..but nothing more I could do..!

At times I’ve felt pain in using the so called ‘Rich-Format Editor’ that is available online… I wanted some easier tool that would allow me to write blogs offline and publish it. Accidently I came across the publishing / blogging capability of MS-word. I’m not sure if this is available in earlier versions previous to 2007. Luckily I use it.

I just wanted to create a self-assesment tool in excel with an easy user-interface. The basic features I wanted are
i. The user should have a list of dimensions and attributes against them to select
ii. He should be able to select the set of attributes, he fits in by just double-clicking on it and get the final score.
iii. As a evaluator, I should be able to add any number of dimensions with any number of attributes against them.
iv. I should also be able to scale the scoring to anything I want.

This is the puzzle that I quoted in my previous post. Please try it out…
Try Out…! The rules are..
1, Only two people can travel at once
2, Daddy can not stay with the girls without the presence of the mother
3, Mum cant stay with the boys without the presence of the father
4, The arrested red-hair girl in stripy outfit cannot stay with any of the family members without the Police officer
5, Only the Police officer and the parents can drive the boat across the river
Click on the people you want to transport
To use the boat click on the red dots next to the boat
To start press the BIG BLUE button
Please leave a comment with how much time you took to crack it..if you manage to do..
